Shipping & Returns

Town & Country Toys is owned and operated by Dean & Shirley Jaeger in Waterloo Wisconsin. Our objective is to provide the products listed on our web site to our customers in new condition as received from our suppliers. We carefully review the order and quantities of what is being shipped and deliver it in a timely manner, and earn the customer's confidence in us. We want each customer to be satisfied with us and with the products we sell.

From time to time, we may make an error in filling an order where a correction needs to be made.  Some items may be damaged in shipment. We review the item(s) being shipped to verify them in good condition without any broken parts, but may be other than expected.

If you need to return an item, please Contact Us with your order number and details about the product you would like to return. We will respond quickly with instructions for how to return items from your order according to the following. 
 

Returns Policy - Some examples of returns:

* Package is damaged and one or more items are broken - Contact the shipper, usually USPS and file a claim for the damage. Notify us so we can work with you to replace the item.

* An incorrect item was shipped - Notify us of the error. We will ask you to send the item back to us. We will reimburse you for shipping costs to return the item with a credit to your account. We will send the correct item to you at no cost for shipping. 

* Defective/flawed item -  You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We will pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of a defective item.

* Customer damages an item - Usually, once an item is removed from the blister package, it is beyond our responsibility to replace it. The customer should call and explain the situation to see what can be done. 

We will process your return once we receive it and send a refund request to your bank (where applicable). This usually takes 5 to 7 business days, but may be done sooner.


Shipping

We usually ship to anywhere in the United States, outlying provinces, Canada, and Mexico. We may consider other destinations. However, there may be restrictions on some products, and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations. Shipping costs are meant to be actual costs we don't want to make money on shipping.

When you place an order, we will estimate shipping and delivery dates for you based on the availability of your items and the shipping options you choose. Depending on the shipping provider you choose, shipping date estimates may appear on the shipping quotes page.

The weight along with the size of the item is used to calculate shipping quotes/costs. If the customer orders 2 or 3 units of an item, the factors work fairly well. Shipping is based on a certain size package and weight. For example, picture a package for an order of 1-3 units of the same item. The items are stacked to see if the computed size of them is within the acceptable package size by USPS. 

However, if a customer orders a higher quantity, the items are stacked based on size. and that may exceed the acceptable package size. An error is encountered and the order can't be completed. We will see if there are alternatives for this error, but for now, it is not resolved. There may be an app that can be used instead of USPS for quotes.

In the meantime, the customer could reduce the number of items ordered by splitting it into 2 or more orders. You could also call us to handle the order off line using our manual invoicing or via Pay Pal. 

Please also note that the shipping rates for many items we sell are weight-based. The weight of any such item can be found on its detail page. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we use, all weights will be rounded up to the next full ounce or pound.
